Screenr -- review

If you are on a limited budget and need to make short 5 minute screen shot narrated videos for your library, then this is a free tool that comes in handy.  We have made several to educate our patrons on how to order different types of inter library loans, pay for fines online and how to use Library Elf.  My computer at work did not have a microphone attached and so I used a free Amigos microphone that came with an online class.

Great things about Screenr

1.   It is free.
2.  Easy to use with some practice.
3.  Video is useful for advertising and training purposes.
4.  Saves as an MP4 and is uploadable to social media sites.

Drawbacks
1.  Videos can only be 5 minutes long.
2.  Story boarding is really a must unless you are very adept at narrating and using technology at the same time.
3.  You cannot edit a video.  If you make a glaring mistake, you have to start over again.
